Game Reschedule Policy

1. The Golden Rule: Try Not to Reschedule

We get it — life happens. Kids get sick, cars break down, and somehow everyone’s away the same weekend. But reschedules should be the exception, not the plan. Once a game is on the schedule, it’s on the schedule.

If you absolutely must reschedule, do it quickly, politely, and with a genuine effort to make the new game happen.

We do accept schedule requests (within reason) if submitted more than one week prior to the start of the season, but we can’t guarantee we can honor every request. We’ll do our best — just don’t ask us to make time bend.

2. How It Works

  1. You (the requesting team) submit a Reschedule Request with several realistic replacement dates/times.
  2. Your opponent is notified and either:
    • selects one of your proposed options, or
    • suggests a few alternate options of their own.
  3. You (the requesting team) must then confirm one of those options and lock it in. No endless back-and-forth.

If you can’t reach agreement within the deadline, the original game stands.

3. The Two-Week Rule

You’ve got 14 days from the date of your request to reach an agreement on a new date/time. The new game can be scheduled for a date after those two weeks — but the agreement must be reached before the deadline. After that, the request expires faster than an unclaimed churro.

4. Forfeits

If no agreement is reached within two weeks — or the game doesn’t happen as rescheduled — the requesting team takes the forfeit. Not a punishment; just the natural consequence of trying to move too many calendars at once.

5. Opponent Responsibilities

Act in good faith. Respond promptly, offer fair availability, and don’t claim your calendar is “full” because brunch looked intense. Rescheduling isn’t mandatory, but cooperation keeps the league humming.

6. League Office Role

Our staff reviews requests for reasonableness and may approve or deny reschedules that disrupt the season flow. Translation: if your proposed time collides with playoffs, holidays, or physics, we’ll say no.

7. Pro Tips for Sanity

  • Double-check your roster’s availability before you submit.

  • Offer dates that truly work (goalkeepers are people too).

  • Don’t wait until day 13 to start negotiating.

  • Clear, quick communication beats confusion every time.

  • We can’t hold field times while you decide — if you’ve got a slot that works for both teams, grab it fast. Have a couple of good options ready and act quickly before someone else takes your perfect time.

8. Final Word

We’re here to play, not to chase emails for two weeks. If you need a reschedule, make it efficient, respectful, and aimed at getting the game played.

We do NOT close due to weather events, except in very rare circumstances. We understand that we’re just playing games and don’t expect you to venture out if you’re uncomfortable. However, we will be unable to make up missed games due to weather (we just don’t have space in our schedule). Come play!
